I don't think they do it at airshows anymore (or may not be a public thing anyway). Didn't the C-130 fleet get better engines at some point? They might never really need that JATO boost any longer.

Fat Albert is not part of this year’s show, currently undergoing an extensive refit. My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

Back in the 80's and 90's (before I started working the air shows) my dad and I would get there super early and get a seat right along the fence for the High on Kalamazoo Air Shows. Best seats you can imagine... ... unless you're in the static display area with the pilots of the aircraft your assigned to for the show Pronoun: His Royal Highness and benevolent Majesty of all he surveys 343 - Never Forget Its better to be Pavlov's dog than Schrodinger's cat There are three types of mistakes; Those you learn from, those you suffer from, and those you don't survive.

Thanks for the extra pics! Always loved air shows back when I didn’t mind walking 4+ miles. (Luke AFB) Now, not so much. And the BONE is the sexiest aircraft ever made. Swing wing, supersonic and able to carry a shitload of “To whom it may concern.” -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.
