Last year I turned my deck into a garden with planters all the way around the railing. I’ve added even more pots and planters and should have a decent garden. Because my deck is one story up it keeps the wildlife from eating my lettuce. So far it looks like I’m gonna be growing: Tomatoes Lettuce Cabbage Mint Cucumber Eggplant Cilantro Strawberries Citronella Lavender Green peppers Chives Green onions Sage Thyme What are you planning on growing? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

we're still weeks away from even tilling; have permanent blueberries/raspberries/strawberries; rhubarb/garlic/various herbs/apples/pears when the produce/plums/morels when they cooperate expect obligatory tomatoes/onions/green beans/green/red peppers/sunflowers/squash/carrots/beets/variety dry beans/about giving up on the delights of home grown okra/favas Corn, melons & potatoes don't work very well in our garden spot. **************~~~~~~~~~~ "I've been on this rock too long to bother with these liars any more." ~SIGforum advisor~ "When the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change, then change will come."~~sigmonkey

I have blue berries and grapes for the deer and birds. For me I have cherry tomatoes, zucchini, squash, cucumbers and sweet potatoes. This year I'm doing all hay bale. Autumn planting season, I hope to go late with green beans and, probably, more sweet potatoes. ========================================== Just my 2¢ ____________________________ Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right ♫♫♫

Weeds right now. Well, technically I just cleaned them out. I'm hoping to get some tomatoes and green beans going after my baby is born. I planted probably 3-4 weeks later than I wanted to but it’ll be ok. Last year I crammed way too much in a little space so I’m cutting way back this year. - 2 golden cherry tomato - 2 large red tomato of some variety - 1 yellow think skin crookneck squash (I hope, I’ve had terrible luck with squash not being labeled right) - 2-4 green bean, bush type. We’ll see how many sprout ok. - 2 red bell pepper - 2 yellow bell pepper - about 35 silver queen corn. Yum!

I don't know. It's beyond me at this point. My parents were born and raised farming in Italy. So now that they are retired their daily "job" is farming in the back yard. We don't even mow the lawn back there anymore. There is maybe 2 feet of grass left. The rest turned into a farm. There is just too much to list. Cherry tree, plum, orange, lemon, persimmons, fig, pear, peach, apple, and some other fruit trees that I can't remember. Then there are blackberry, raspberry, golden raspberry, cantelope, watermelon, honeydew, strawberry. Then there are tomatoes, potatoes, peppers a few different kinds and colors, eggplant, zucchini, squash, green beans, chicory, escarole, lettuce, romane lettuce, broccoli rabe, garlic. Seems like everything but corn. and every kind of spice. Not just 2 or 3 plants either. I'm talking 15-25 each depending on their yeild. They even build a green house leantoo on the side of the garage for germinating. All year round when they eat a fruit, they save the seed if the like the fruit and try to grow from them. Seriously, its gone to far now. But who am I to complain, I get to walk outside and eat something fresh of the tree when ever I feel like it. Oh, and don't let me forget the grape vines. God forbid we don't mention those mighty roots, my father will snuff me out in my sleep if I don't brag on those... First In Last Out
