I'm not at the escape with the cloths on my back stage, still exploring all options. Having lived in the Chicago area for almost 75 years there is no way I would even consider moving someplace like the west coast that is actually worse than here. I have property to sell. This is a year long process that is beginning now.

Say no more. Then I vote for taking with you to the free state you move to and then decide whether to keep or sell. Again, glad to hear you're making the exit!

Thank you. Fell in love with the ESS sound 50 years ago and i’m happily stuck with it. Got one pair of AMT 1a (big HEILs, 12 inch woofer and rear passives, being restored sfter 48 years of waiting and hoping it could be made properly)and two pairs of AMT12. Same configuration, bought during Lockdown. 0-0This message has been edited. Last edited by: 0-0, "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

The market will turn around if you wait long enough. If you need to sell right now it sucks.

Unless you need to sell your firearms to help fund your move I would hold on to them and once you move you can sell or keep them or buy more since you'll be moving to a free state. As far as the stereo equipment is concerned FB market place is a good place to sell stuff and you don't have to be active on FB just use it long enough to sell your equipment and then close your account. There's plenty of scammers on FB market place but there's plenty of scammers on every sight where you can sell stuff just recognize red flags and you'll be OK. There's all sorts of forums for everything so google forums about stereo equipment, join, and once you've been a member for X number of days and added the minimum required posts place a for sale add.

That's the irony. When the market turns around is the time when one feels the need to keep his guns.

Armored- I’ll shoot you an email in a day or two. I have a few things going on at work, and busy as hell right now. IIRC- A few years ago I got a G-17 RTF2 from you. I remember you mentioning it was “Used”. Yeah, I still can’t see any signs of use! That gun was brand new and in excellent condition! ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. The selling of a few guns and stereo equipment will have little to no effect on my finances. The stereo equipment I have enjoyed for almost half a century. It has sat dormant for years.I can only really enjoy it when my wife is not home, otherwise I have to hear the "turn it down" constantly until I get so frustrated that I just turn it off. I think to much of it to let it sit until the day I die only to end up going to family that will not care about it or develop the passion I have for it. I would rather sell it to somebody that will respect it. I have two home theater amps, 5 channel and 7 channel, that are still in the original boxes that I can still use someday along with a 5 channel speaker system. I have no passion for this equipment, but I'm sure it will sound good enough going forward. I have been a devoted fan of 2 channel stereo. I will probably hold on to my Revox Linear tracking turn table and my records. Tape decks and SACD player and CD player, who knows. The guns are things that I enjoyed but spend most of there time locked in a safe, eventually I will get a urge to take one out and spend a few evenings looking at and just handling them. Some I consider works of art. Some are over my head at my age as far as recoil and cost to shoot. Some are for specific gun sports that I no longer participate in like Trap. Many I will keep because I have a history with them and consider them "keep for ever" items I consider the guns I want to sell too nice to just have family wholesale out when I die, I would rather have somebody who appreciates them enjoy them. I will appreciate the smile on there face when they leave with them. The worse case scenario is that I keep them. At my stage in life now I look back at things that sort of flew over my head 20-30 years ago that my elders said to me and did. My Father was a devoted stamp collector all his life. He learned it from his father. My Father often asked if I want to go through his stamp collection and see if I would be interested in his passion some day. I had no interest. He eventually sold part of it. The rest sits in my safe. It will remain there until a future family member develops a interest. My house is full of stuff that belonged to my Grandparents and Mother and Father.I have held on to it because I believe that somebody else will appreciate it (Pre-War German glassware and crystal). Its not about the money its all about appreciation of fine things. Thanks everybody for your advice.
