I have a fondness for Shepherd Husky mixes. This is my third. All have been rescues. Smaller than full-size shepherds but about 50 to 60 pounds. My current one turns out to be a Shepherd, Cattle Dog Husky mix. Go online. My wife listed 5 things she wanted in a dog. This one was like it was custom-made for her. There are thousands of available dogs in shelters. Most will have transportation systems in place to get you the dog no matter where it is. If you want a Boxer there are Boxer rescues. or for that matter almost any other breed. In the time of bad economies, lots of people are letting their dogs go or turning them over to shelters. People can't believe someone would let my dog go. When you get a rescue it is not for the faint of heart. All the ones I have rescued had issues. But in the end, it was worth it.

Reuben, my Doberman who passed in 2015, was the smartest, most intuitive, best judge of character, couch potato dog buddy I’ve ever had. They are amazing dogs. 0:01

I looked at the local SPCA website. They must have 2-300 pics of dogs, so many looked like they had Pitbull in them. Don't want the possibility of any aggression. Two young grandsons that don't visit very often. Others looked interesting.
