How about mineral oil? Food grade, of course.

The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

People reportedly fried weeds or whatever plants they could find in machine oil during the Siege of Leningrad. That might be an outlier case. Razz

Danger! When I was a lad, my mom weaponized that stuff. It can give real meaning to the term “clean as a whistle.” I haven’t been full of anything in 70 years. Big Grin

My success with weight loss and blood sugar control may be attributed to dialing back on ribs, fried pork chops, bacon sandwiches and all the tasty stuff that has now been relegated to condiment status.
I also figure that lots of carbohydrates such as peas, beans, potatoes, corn and other veggies made a significant contribution.
Do we need fat in our diet? Oh yeah, but maybe we are spending too much energy attacking just one thing. Calorie dense foods may be the biggest source of weight (fat) gain which promotes our many health problems.
Pleas allow me to submit one more link to a fellow talking about the calorie density of different foods and the solution to the problem of satiety that plagues all of us who try to stay on some diet. Link

Leave the cannoli and bring the gun. Smile
