Almost every McDonalds rest room has a door that you pull open to exit. That along with air hand driers. I can understand the existence of bad stuff on order terminals.

Bigdeal's post is sound, and I tell myself the same everyday. However, I just can't bring myself to pull open the door of the restroom (after washing my hands) without using a paper towel. Razz

What I don't get is what this discussion has to do with whether or not employees are paid $15 an hour.

Agreed.

You'll find fecal bacteria (and others) everywhere.

Get over it.

If I'm forced to pull open a bathroom door sans paper towel. I go for the least used area of the bar or handle. I will usually get TP for the job if there are no taper towels available. Makes a mess if you have wet hands however.

They should at least pay those $15hr burger flippers as much for having to use all those handles in the bathrooms every day at work..

I once read in the Germophobe Quarterly the absolute worst tested for germs were motel/hotel TV remotes Smile

Folks, your own skin is covered in nasty germs like staph and other flesh-eating bugs right now.
Situation normal.

Raising children cured me of germ squeamishness. I wasn't a phobe exactly. Just the idea of fecal germs etc. made me wince. After over a decade of some kind of child generated sewage, slobber, vomit, ear wax, pus, blood, tears, snot, you name it, being imposed on me and everything I owned, I'm cool with the idea of germs. I Just try to wash frequently enough to avoid teh bola.

They wanted $15 to take orders and flip burgers. They got replaced by a kiosk. A poop-covered kiosk, apparently.

Personally, I've had 100% order accuracy from a kiosk so far.

Don't fool yourself. The human beings cooking your burger and taking your order will also test positive for fecal bacteria.

You're going to be exposed to that stuff no matter what you do, unless you turn into Howard Hughes.

Get over it.

Yeah, I have traveled a lot in the military (Iran, western Europe, Turkey for example) not to mention vacation/leave to virtually every western European nation.

When I arrived in Iran as a military advisor I was greeted at the airport in Tehran by my sponsor. He greeted me, introduced himself, and handed me a bottle of "pink lady" to deal with the inevitable case of extreme diarrhea. And he was correct. Since most of us were far outside Tehran, we were essentially forced to eat of local foods, establishments, etc.

Never had that problem in Europe.

Most (all?) of us have a resistance built up by living to most of the stuff people seem to get excited about.

Out in western Iran, we had a "Howard Johnson's" where we often stopped to eat. Mud hut, food cooked over a charcoal fire. Meat was largely goat meat. Pork was out of the question for obvious reasons.

Life is too short to worry one's self to death over the possibility of picking up germs from some touch screen.

I would worry a lot more about some asshole spitting in my food before serving it. Maybe that is why over the last 10-12 years we have not eaten out.

Do you think about what you say? Non-muslims wipe their ass with either hand. What is the difference with respect to spreading those bacteria?
