I left Facebook completely around the election. My life has been much more peaceful.

I have 95 friends on Facebook. Of those, I know 92 of them face-to-face; the others I have had lots of online contact with. 28 are relatives, and three of those are deceased.

My oldest friend (not relative) on facebook I have known for 42 years. The newest friend I've known for at least five years.

I post at least once per week, always on something innocuous you might talk about in any general conversation. Pets, family gossip, car repairs, etc. Never politics. I respond to many of my friends' posts. We chat.

Most of these friends - real friends - I have not seen in decades, and realistically will probably not live to see in person again.

Facebook is quicker than regular mail, more time-convenient than the phone, and is very likely keeping me from losing contact with these people.

We have Facebook for one, and only one, reason-our Church.

When, for some reason, we can't make it to the Services (prolly 'cause we are getting older and get sick or hurt/injure ourselves a lot more than we did in the past) we can watch our Church Services on Facebook.

It was only during the earliest days of the Covid in 2020 (maybe late 2019) when everything was shut down, that our Church went on Facebok so our folks could watch the Services.

Otherwise, no interest, no reason to click on Facebook.

I have a Facebook account to maintain contact with relatives and friends (not "Friends"). I also participate in several veterans' and genealogical Groups there. I do have "Friends", but most of them share my surname and FB is the only way we communicate. I rarely initiate a conversation on FB except on one of the Groups. It would be very inconvenient to attempt to re-establish my contact list on another venue.
