T-111, a nice dark stain, it'll look like a 1970's rumpus room. Wink

For my own reasons I’d love to see a picture of the finished space.
Curious about cost as well?

I used 1/2" in my shop as well. It's a pole barn style with 2x4 purlins as opposed to studs. Just screwed the sheets to those all the way around and it has worked great. Like ridewv, with multiple cans/gallons of gas, diesel, oil, and close to 100 lbs of powder out there, sheathing material makes little difference. If it ever goes up, they'll see it in the next county with sheetrock or plywood.

For some reason, I never thought to paint it white and just left it raw. That would make it noticeably brighter in there. Maybe I'll do that next year.

Georgeair, I don’t have a pic hosting site so check your email. I needed 11 sheets to do the garage @ $22.65 ea. it also ate up 2 gallons of Kilz, 2 gallons of paint, and 2 tubes of caulk.

I’ll be looking at Friedrich through wall units that have A/C as well as electric heat. Since I finished the walls so late in the year, I’m buying a new snowblower.

You mentioned AC, did you insulate first?

Drywall is fireproof.

Plywood is flamable.

That would determine what I did, unless the garage was old and ready to fall over, then I'd go plywood under drywall. Which you can still do 400m. 5/8" drywall is cheap.

Have you looked at Mr. Cool Mini splits? We have one in the barn and I prefer it to the through wall unit we have in a bed room addition.
