Knowing is Half the Battle

Our daughters like cheese pizza, our son and I like pepperoni, Mrs. Scuba will eat whatever. The half and half pepperoni/cheese pizza is the Great Mediator of Hunger. Walk into the store, place order, do your shopping, it is usually coming out of the oven the instant we clear the checkout. Every now and then though they get swamped because they are habitually understaffed in the food court. If I'm flying solo...the chicken bake gets me every time.

I'm working from home watching our 12yr old son and 10yr old daughter all summer. They were starving so I went with the Costco half and half pizza for lunch instead of all of us eating it at dinner. With me only eating 1 1/2 slices, the three of us finished off 3/4 of the pizza. That's a household record. Usually it takes the 5 of us to take out 3/4 of their pizza. We've never eaten it all in one sitting.

Yep, fed many a hungry kid with Costco food court. When I was roofing, I would get a pizza or two for the crew for lunch for a treat.

That's a lot of hot dog! Costco around here only has quarter pound, not half pound.

My big gripe: they discontinued sauerkraut.

I used to get those for the kids when my kid had her friends over. A pizza would feed 3-4 of them easily.

Don’t forget to save room for the giant chocolate chip cookie.

Before I retired Costco hotdogs and pizza were a weekly staple in the office. The chief came down from Sacto. to our office once as four of us were leaving for Costco. He asked where we were off to and we told him. He couldn’t believe it as he had never had one of their hot dogs. Never the less, he declined the offer to accompany us.

I used to get a dog and a slice of the combo pizza. If I was feeling hungry, I’d top it off with a churro. Unfortunately, post Covid, they discontinued the combo pizza and just recently D/Ced the churro.

A few months ago, the local Costcos stopped giving onions for the hotdogs. A staff member told me folks were coming in with ziplock bags and cranking out all of the onions and taking them home. I remarked to my wife last week when we were getting a dog that we needed to start bringing our own onions in the future.

Oh, and my granddaughter loves the cheese pizza.

I've seen people here at the tiny town Casey's
Walk out with
Five and seven pizzas ,regularly, like two or three times a month.

I've never seen anyone with more than two at our costcos.

When we first joined Price Club they made their pizzas with fresh shredded cheese.

It was way better.

So that's why. Boy I miss the onions--a little zip-loc with diced onions is a great idea, a fantastic one.

BTW the granddaughters love the soft ice cream. Shared a choc-vanilla swirl with them and I must admit it was AWESOME.

I prefer combo, so I'm finding no peace. Frown

The roast beef sandwich sucked. I'm glad they got rid of it. The cookie is not a good replacement for the churros.

My bad, I guess it is "just" a 1/4# dog.

i tried costco pizza...once. i took a bite and kept chewing the cheese for an unusually long time. it was like eating chewing gum.

not long after that i saw something on www about a guy who ate costco pizza every day for a while and eventually needed surgery to extract the substance from his system

If you like the dogs, you can buy the Kirkland Brand dogs, same thing and have them at home they come in a three pack!

You can get regular or the 1/4 pound Beef Dinner Franks.
