In the mid 50's, my Uncle had several farms with one planted in Christmas trees. We would get a Christmas tree and another scraggly tree for making Christmas wreaths.
Those were good times that are missed today.

I got to thinking about the home made fruit cake. In past years, I usually tried a store bought fruit cake but they were not as good as the ones my mother made. Does anyone make fruit cakes during Christmas time?
She also made mincemeat for pies. I found a pint jar in the frig that must be 30 years old.
