"It seems the victim was poaching in the game park when he was attacked and killed by lions. They ate his body, nearly all of it, and just left his head and some remains," Limpopo police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe told AFP.

Amateur lions - the head is the best part.

The really unfortunate thing about this, there are now lions running around out there who consider humans “prey”. It’s unfortunate for the lions as well as any human population that they end up reacting with. The poacher got what he deserved, but the lions now might not avoid a human as they would have originally.

Hey Club:

Would you mind adding a bit more detail to your "subject"?

I was just about to post the same story but happened to read yours first.

In the late 70s, a friend I was in the service with approached me and asked me if I wanted a job. He said it was overseas, offered lots of money and 30 days of paid leave a year. Since I was financially embarrassed at the time, I was tempted.
So I asked him what the job entailed. He told me he worked on a large private game preserve in Africa (I forget where it was) and his job was to track down poachers. And when he caught up to the poachers, he shot them! He went on to say that the poachers were determined, well armed and fought back when caught.
I declined this offer.
I guess that practice of poacher control has fallen from favor.
And hooray for the lions! Good Kitty!
