Yeah, what kind of a parent wouldn't go to the police, if your child was sexually assaulted, and just let the school do its own investigation?

I don’t think that’s what happened here at all. Dad got called to school when it happened. Flipped out when they suggested sweeping it under the rug to the point of almost being arrested. Went straight to the hospital with daughter to have her examined and then the police were notified and a case was opened. From what I read, this all happened the day of the assault.

From the article in the OP:

“It's unclear exactly what happened next but Smith ended up at the hospital with his daughter.

There, they told doctors what happened and a rape kit was performed.

'Thank God that I drew enough attention to it, without getting arrested, that we got an escort to the hospital and they administered a rape kit that night,' he said.

The rape kit verified his daughter's claim so they took it to the police and a case was opened.”

Do other states not have mandatory reporting?

I live in NC and we have a statute that outlines mandatory reporting of sexual assaults and other crimes by people if they are in certain positions of power, i.e. teacher, police officer, social worker, etc.

The law is designed to prevent this very thing from occurring.

I’ve been called to a school to take a bag of weed from little Johnny…I informed the principal that it didn’t work that way and she told me, “go away then”. Nope doesn’t work that way either.

This was a decade ago, and I made sure that little Johnny got put into the juvenile system. And the bag was the size of a softball. It may not follow him into adulthood but everywhere he went in the county knew he had a record. It’s important to get them into the system so that judges know what kind of history they have for sentencing when they do stuff physical.

Kid was a 5th grader. I personally called CPS.

Unless and until they reveal the identity of the rapist, every boy that wears a dress in Loudon is at risk for reprisals.

Well, a life lesson may be coming to them. Just what they need, a wake up call from the real world. Whoever is screwing with the boy's brain so that he wears a dress, this would be an intervention that the boy needs.

I agree. As a 31+ year Police Officer, I'm embarrassed for the profession when I see things like this. Some of these guys need to realize that they work for the people, not the school board.

What kind of police would do this to a parent whose child was assaulted and the school board covered it up?

The system is working against the victims.

This was this alleged rapists 2nd offense. What the hell is he even doing in the school system?

Pure wild guess but I suspect they wanted to handle it internally because this is not the first time the predator has had issues at that school and they were trying to avoid a lawsuit.

If I read the article correctly, he assaulted a female.

The school board did nothing and he went to another school.

A few months later, he assaulted another female at the other school.

Who ever covered this up, needs to be in prison.

Maybe the real question is who is the offender's parents / connections that is resulting in said protection?

"Once he got there, he says school staff told him they would handle it internally, choosing not to call the police for an as-yet unexplained reason."

I would have called the cops right then and there.

They didn't want to report it because it goes against the trans agenda that trans people are not predators, AND they were grossly negligent. Everyone involved in the coverup needs to be fired and prosecuted as accessories or co-conspirators and registered as child sex offenders.

a teenager from Ashburn, Virginia, has since been charged with sexual battery and abduction at another area high school. While the name cannot be released because the suspect is a juvenile, Smith said that individual is the same one who allegedly assaulted his daughter earlier this year.

All juvenile records are sealed, but Smith’s attorney Elizabeth Lancaster told The Daily Wire that the boy was subsequently charged with two counts of forcible sodomy, one count of anal sodomy, and one count of forcible fellatio.

In response to a public records request by The Daily Wire, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a May 28 report with "Offense: Forcible Sodomy [and] Sexual Battery" at Stone Bridge High School does exist.

Minutes before Smith’s arrest at the June 22 board meeting, Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Superintendent Scott Ziegler declared that "the predator transgender student or person simply does not exist," and that to his knowledge, "we don’t have any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms,"

The cop friends I know who've responded to school robbery, vandalism, and all variety of assault to include sexual, have all remarked that there's a good possibility that these calls will result in school administrators waffling or, outright resisting any attempts by law enforcement to remove the perpetrators from the student body.

Usually the school district thinks they know better, looking down on responding LEO's and tossing graduate degrees around during call-outs, attempting to 'seek a solution' that doesn't involve the court system. Teacher's who have knowledge of the student and have worked with them prior, will usually be the ones who will be the most demonstrative; acting as surrogate parents while attempting to minimize the incident, not recognizing the seriousness or, dragging their feet knowing that the child is a predator to the rest of the student body.

More evidence of the coverup of crimes committed on campuses of schools, colleges, and universities, as part of the "Restorative Justice" mantra. Get rid of police on campus, keep victimization complaints quiet, and blame crime on "White Privilege." All this is part of the foundation of Critical Race (Racism) Theory.

It going to be an interesting election in November.

My spouse and I looked into sending our physically nine year old child who was capable and doing work more in line with kids who were in 9th grade.

I asked the Principal at Countryside Elementary School if there was any program for my academically advanced child.

"No." No explanation of why such a program didn't exist, no discussion of other options to handle our child's education needs, just "No."

So my spouse asked what the curriculum included. I swear that woman said "Standard of Learning Testing" ten times in five minutes.

We rose to leave and the Principal asked if we'd be registering her for the upcoming school year. "No," I replied. "So when do you want to register her?" I replied "Never."

Suffice to say, we made the hard choice to homeschool. Doing so saw our child finished all of her scholarly studies by the time she was fifteen, so she chose to go to the LCPS to take AP courses so she might get credit for them when still living with us. She ended up passing six AP classes, chopping an entire year off her college career.

So my recommendation is FUCK LCPS.
