Thanks to a few of you low-lifes talking about how awesome Marathon watches are, and how with the tritium hour markers and hands glowing so brightly for many years, I decided to buy one about two weeks ago!

Well, it just showed up this evening via USPS Priority mail. Damn is it ever nice!!! I got the medium sized dive watch which is all stainless steel. For $800.00 plus shipping, it better be awesome for as long as I live!

Oh, and I should mention it was already running and set to MY time zone, with the correct time no less!!! Dammit, there goes the money for another gun! Mad

You people are a BAD influence on me! Big Grin

I've had my eye on a Marathon SAR Pilots auto for years and haven't been able to justify it just yet...but now I'm not so sure...the watch appears to be so big it caused a tsunami on your hand. Wink

Nice looking watch.

Nah, just wrinkled skin from the weird angle I had to hold my hand/wrist under the bedside lamp! Big Grin

It IS thicker than my other watches, but otherwise the same diameter as all of my Seiko’s and Citizen watches!

I've had my Jumbo for almost twelve years now and the lume is as impressive as it was when new.

It could also double as a decent boat anchor, if I had a boat, but it DOES make a good door stop on the odd occasions that I take it off.

Mine is dated NOV 2007 and serial #1/00789. anybody else here with the J-SAR?

I wear a Marathon Navigator’s watch I purchased at a militaria show back in the 1990s, I periodically have to change the battery (a simple task) and wash the strap. It keeps very good time. I should consider replacing the strap, however it isn’t that much of an issue. Marathon have a sense of humor, instead of marking the face of the watch with MARATHON it has ADANAC (CANADA spelled backwards). Cool

Congrats! I've had my eye on the medium diver for a while. I just love my Seiko SKX013 and I'm not sure it can share wrist time lol.

I got one when I was in the service. Mine has a National Stock Number on the Bach and has US Govt in the face. Very nice Bronica.

I have a 2002 contract year issued SAR as well. These are the best hard work watches made. Its on a Marathon bracelet these days and has had some "work" done. Its survived everything thrown at it for 17 years now.

I have the original October 2001 contract automatic version. Added the bracelet when they were made available a few years later. It's being serviced currently. Great watch!
