Putting a dishwashing machine back in service after 10 years advise
It’s just the wife and I at home and we haven’t turned on the dishwasher since we moved in, 10 years ago.
From the inside, it looks pristine.

Any suggestions before trying to use it again?

Thanks.

You might want to check all the seals in the machine. They've likely dried out after 10 years of non-use. There are a lot of videos about leaking dishwashers online. Good luck!

That's a good video above, but there's one thing off the top of my head that might be an issue.

There was a period where I was working out of town for most of a year, and when I got back, I attempted to run the dishwasher. There was a loud hum initially, and after it persisted, I opened the door and saw there was substantial pooled water.

Long story short, my water has substantial calcium, and the pump impeller was glued to the housing with scale. I pulled the pump, freed the impeller, and poured vinegar into the dishwasher, and it's been fine since.

The pump always has some water in it, so that might be something you'd have to deal with if the water is hard.

Find the valve to shut off the input water BEFORE you have to cut off the water to it.

And make sure it works.

If you are going to test run it, don't load it up with dirty dishes first, so if it doesn't run or leaks, you don't have to unload it...

I would pour a jug of vinegar in and let it sit for a few hours first.
I would check any rubber hose connections to make sure they have not dry rotted.

First of all, what kind of dishwasher are we talking about?

OP is in Argentina. This may not be a big American style dishwasher here.

Brand is Electrolux. Not sure it´s common in the US but seem to recall being popular in Europe, maybe french origin?
It looks like a regular dishwasher.

The vinegar and the water tap are very good tips.

Thanks.

Check the water feed hoses for conditions of hoses.... Had a apartment dishwasher that was new and unused for 10-to-12 years and out of the blue one of the hoses developed a major leak on a end fitting.......replaced hose but dishwasher went unused for several more years till we moved out to our current house. ................................... drill sgt.

A few drops of food coloring in the wash water makes spotting leaks much easier.
