That looks like some really neat technology that should help a lot of people.
While we are right to complain about many of the problems with health insurance, big pharma and medical device companies, I guess we should also remember how much devices like this and modern drugs enhance our lives and reduce pain and suffering.

Currently I have a 6-8mm stone in my right kidney. It's been there, and growing for many years.
My GP just wants to "wait and see".
