Yesterday is the anniversary of my returning from Vietnam. I saw my son for the first time and my wife and her parents were very convincing that I not wake him up. I did get to feed him breakfast the next day. He is now an attorney with his own firm.

It was over a hundred when I left and 30 when I arrived in Chicago. I had trouble adjusting to the cold.

30 days later, wife, son, and I left for Fort Sam in San Antonio. We would be there until July when I was discharged.

The time has flown by.

Close to 56 years ago I remember waking up and seeing my Dad's bags by the front door when he came back. Then running into the living room and jumping on him.

Getting on that plane to come home for the last time is a wonderful feeling. And to come home in one good "piece" just makes it all the better. Glad you made it over and back.
