I've been to Whataburger twice in the Florida Panhandle and once in Texas. Liked it all 3 times and really think it is the best fast food hamburger I've ever had.

Culver's is ok, but not worth a special trip. Five Guys is way overpriced.

I usually use a small local franchise here in Dallas/Garland called Griff's. But there is a Whataburger closer and I sometimes do that.

We have them in North Carolina. I went to one today, 2nd time ever. To me the meat had no taste. I'd be just as happy with a $1 McD hamburger. I eat burgers ketchup-only, so if the meat has any taste it does come through.

I do agree that being bought out is probably bad news though.

Waiting on 2 #1s right now.
Whataburger has always been near CFA service & I dont recall a bad/poor experience at any I've been to & rarely is an order incorrect.

If only the taquitos were available 24hrs.

I have never even seen a Whataburger place, did not know there are any in Florida. Just checked their website, it appears that there are none within four hours of the Orlando area.

My experience is only in the panhandle...my in-laws live in Pensacola, so we get down there pretty frequently. They have quite a few Whataburger locations there.

A big part of the reason I like Whataburger is that the lettuce, tomato, and onion are always fresh and cold, and the meat and bun are hot.

So I can see how you could be unimpressed if you eat a hamburger with only ketchup on it. Yuck.

When I go out for a hamburger(it is rare), Whataburger is always my choice. They taste like the burgers from the old 1950s burger joints.

What-A-Burger is tasty. BUT: If you do drive-thru, don't leave the used burger bag in your car too long.

My favorite burger place. The double green chile cheese burger What-a-sized is awesome. Sure hope it stays the same.

Co-worker has a family member that's married into the Whataburger family.

According to her, the owner is an only child, whose (step)kids don't want to take over the business.

Firm that bought is run by an Austin-born guy.

We'll see how it all plays out long-term.

I don't eat their often and when I do it's a spur of the moment thing. I don't go out of my way to stop in but if I need some lunch while driving around doing chores and see a Wataburger I just might swing in for a bite. As fast food goes, their at the top of my list. I don't understand the comments about dry pre-cooked meat. I've observed the cooks putting uncooked unfrozen meat patties on the grill then right onto a customer's order. Maybe it's different locations.

I went to WB yesterday and they screwed up my order. But it worked out because they cooked me a new burger and it was right off the grill when I got it. It was delish.

I don't eat out hardly at all but Whataburger (#1 combo) is my go to for my cheat meal on the weekend. I detest fast food but their burgers and fries are top of the heap so if I'm going to eat bad I'm going to WB. I hope these clowns don't ruin the company because here the place is damn near sacred among the population, very popular because you get a real burger for your money. Versus say in an out or some other place where you get this little junior or kids sized hamburger and it's $9. Even the Taquitos at WB are pretty good if you need a quick breakfast. I'm not saying sack meals are good but WB at least is the top of the heap here.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

So when this all went down, I was on the road from Kommiefornia back to the San Antonio home base. I was devastated, and questioned my loyalty to the place. It better stay the same, but the second they change the ketchup I'm out.
