God Help me, my wife thinks she wants one of these to prove to the WORLD what I already know... I CAN'T SING!!!

But being a dutiful husband, I need to find one for Christmas. I know NOTHING about them. Hoping to spend around $300, but willing to go over for quality.

The best set up is a lap top running the software of your choice, KaraFun is the most popular around here. Paired with a small mixing board and a PA or other amplifier speaker combo. Many do without the mixing board for home set ups, but they sure make it nice. Much like anything, you can spend a little or a lot, but do your research and have fun.
