September 1st is the day new laws go into effect every year (my recollection any way) in Texas. 800 new laws went in effect today and here are some of the highlights: I compiled the list from 3 articles (there are more laws in links plus dozens and dozens of others): Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity DISCLAIMER: These are the author's own personal views and do not represent the views of the author's employer.

May God bless the sovereign state of Texas. I've lived in Texas twice in my life. My first memories of this planet are of East Texas. I long for the Piney Woods, which is not the same as pining for the fjords, thank goodness.

At 38 my eyesight has gotten so bad that between that and watching three kids non-stop I bet I don’t see 10% of the 30.06 signs that are posted. It’s unfortunate... Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view. Complacency sucks…

I have a hankering to buy brass knuckles now that they’re legal. Any non wallet draining (ie think Glock not Wilson Combat) recommendations? It may take a while for the market to catch up. I'm still looking for a decent double-edged dagger that isn't made out of old Coke cans or priced at over $300. From the edges on the insides of the novelty paperweights I've seen, my WAG is that they may be a bit painful to use.

I can't remember who it was, but several years back, a member here made some micarta mini-knuckles. They were a little bulky, but the two-finger size and light weight offset the full-fist size IMO. I got one from them; never thought I'd be able to legally use them. Anybody who knows who made them will hopefully post the member name.

I received an email from the TSRA the other day with a list of the newly effective laws. Moving to Texas in 2007 was one of the good life choices we made. Especially since we moved from the Long Island/New York City area, it has been a great decision.

Texas does it again! Nice contrast to the legislative nonsense coming out of the Left Coast.

Sap’s are now legal in Texas too, Buds sells them for a good price and I think they are a good “less than lethal” self defense option. https://www.budsgunshop.com/ca...671/midget+2+ply+sap

Permits for alcohol delivery?? Praise be. I wish the rest of the union could follow the examples set by the rest of the new laws. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. God's Country . Gov. Abbott and the state legislature have been aiding gun owners in past years even before today. Happy to have them on our side. Welcome Scratchy. A gun in the hand is worth more than ten policemen on the phone. The American Revolution was carried out by a group of gun toting religious zealots.

You're welcome to return, sir. I grew up in the woods north of Beaumont, before moving back to Houston after college. The Enemy's gate is down.

That's fantastic. It just about neutralizes those very stupid 30.06 laws.
Yes indeed. It'd be awesome if Utah would eventually allow online alcohol deliveries. With my father in law visiting from France, i tried to find his favorite drink (Ricard) here in Utah with no luck. To be fair, I couldn't find it anywhere in New Jersey either, but I found it online. I had to deliver it to Jersey since they couldn't ship to Utah and then fly back home with it. Thanks for posting tatortodd Big thanks to the TSRA and the Texas legislators who worked to get these passed in a growingly hostile environment from urban (out of state) growth and well funded mom’s against liberty groups. All Texas gun owners need to be TSRA members. HK Ag
