So as not to derail the other thread about the AirPod Pro 3, I want to ask if anyone had tried the axil brand earbuds. AirPods are not necessarily recommended as hearing protection, especially for gunshots unlike the axil brand. However, I do like a lot of the features of the AirPods, such as noise canceling. Has anybody tried both or have the axil brand and, if so, what are your impressions of them? ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! I bought the Axil. It's not something I would recommend. They even went to the over the ear form factor instead. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." AirPods are not at all hearing protection. They are noise cancelling- meaning they counter ambient type noise by making more noise in the exact opposite phase. Axil and the like are totally different- they are designed to block noise but use the microphone outside and the speaker in your ear to allow conversation and such to pass through and cut out at higher levels. These two do not have any real common use. You need something for shooting and something for music. | |||
