I will be in Greensboro next weekend. Does anyone here have any restaurant suggestion? Something unique to Greensboro or N.C.? Anything else I should see while I am there? I am already planning to go to the gun show, but I am always looking for suggestions? Thanks, Ironworker.

I've heard 1618 Downtown is very good. I haven't been there yet, so I'll be looking forward to your review. Big Grin

If you like Brewpubs, Natty Greene's is a great place. 1618 is good if you like fancier fanfare.

Please stop by the booth for Central Carolina Gun Club. We will be in the hallway in the back. As far as restaurants go, try Macs Speed Shop for great ribs, BBQ and brisket. Or Hops as was said for burgers. We often go to NOLA for a little Cajun fare. Harrison is the bartender there. Downtown across the street from Natty’s is McCouls, an Irish pub with excellent food. Shoot me an email and I would be happy to talk. Maybe we could connect while you are in town.

I live in Greensboro and love to eat so right up my alley. 1618 on Friendly is the better choice for seafood, the tuna highly recommended. The 1618 downtown ok but not as good as the original on Friendly Ave. What kind of food or atmosphere are you looking for?

for breakfast, Scrambled next to Hops on Spring Garden, they are only open for breakfast and Brunch, always crowded

Burgers - Hops is also good

dinner - 1618 on Friendly, my wife's favorite Green Valley Grill at the O'henry hotel

Barfood, Jakes on spring Garden, pool tables if you want to entertain yourself

We also just discovered a Great Indian Restaurant, Taaza indian Bistro, out Wendover at Binford parkway.

Any of the three restaurants at the corner of Elam and Walker are very good, Bone Fish Grill may be a little less expensive than 1618, they have fantastic daily specials, check the boards.

Bon Appetite

Give Smithfield's Chicken 'N' Barbeque a try. Good old eastern NC barbeque and brunswick stew is excellent too.

Salvino's on Battleground ave is great Italian food. Country Barbeque on West Wendover ave is good.

If you want a New York styledeli sandwichfor lunch, Lock Stock & Bagel is very good. Although they changed their potato and macaroni salads recently - after having them for 30 years and now they both suck. Get the potato chips instead. Wink Regards 18DAI

I prefer Green Valley Grill, but ate at Lucky 32 far more often.

I want to thank Pingman and his lovely wife for their generous hospitality. It was a pleasure meeting you. I picked up some literature at the hotel about North Carolina. If the Democrats get their way with gun laws in VA. I might have to request political asylum in N.C.
