As I've complained about many times here I've got migraines, and that tends to put me at odds with most strongly scented beard treatments and colognes (heck, I even use unscented/hypo-allergenic fabric softener and detergent because it helps). While I have mitigations in place that are actually working, I need to still be conscious about this stuff.

Historically my goto was Head & Shoulders. It worked well enough, but lately it hasn't been cutting it.

I just picked up some stuff by Wahl that didn't smell too bad in the store, but on my face it went from "mild scent" to "dropkick in the head and beat him while he's down while stealing his wallet." It's not displeasing, but it is potent.

I wanted to see if the collective here has come across anything that might fit the bill here.

So what say ye?

Lately I’ve been using Honest Amish. It has no additional scent, but it has a slight smell from its ingredients.

From my knothole (beard since the mid '70s) nothing beats a DIY 1:1 mix of argan oil mixed with jojoba oil. No scent although some folks add whatever floats their boat.

This right here. I worked for an amenities company for ten months as their production manager.

Every beard oil starts life with this simple solution. Add essential oils to give it a scent, and some of them may help with the skin, but these two oils are what’ll make your beard soft and manageable.

I've found coconut oil does a great job and is a scent that doesn't offend.

I don't have a long beard but I've worn facial hair since the late 1960s and use unscented baby oil. Works for me.

That's exactly what I did. I got myself a small (10ml) bottle of each for a "trial run" and a 2oz bottle to mix/store it in.

Doublesharp, my beard isn't that long either, but it's hella coarse. I tend to find that razor blades tend to only last 2-3 "good" shaves when I'm just trying to tidy up the neck/chin area. (I'm trial-running a double edge safety razor for the first time, so maybe that'll change. If not, at least the blades will be cheaper.) I tend to alternate between full beard, goatee, and clean shaven when I feel like changing (it grows back crazy fast; 2 weeks and it'll come right back in full). I'm not looking to make it feel like my hair, but if I can make it less scratchy I'm down to give it a try.

Beard since 1995. I keep it trimmed to about 1/2" or so. I have never used any oil or waxes. What am I missing?

Difficulty level: I HATE perfume of all kinds.

What the hell, I'll try it. (...) 33K+ reviews is impressive.
Due to magic, it arrived today. I have to say it has a nice faint smell. Like that of licorice.

I've had problems w/ "beard-druff" when I shower too hot (mostly a winter problem) and the water strips the oils off my beard. And, if I'm in a hurry and don't dry it properly. Conditioner seems to help but it's not been reliable, maybe due to the temp. of the water I rinse w/. Skipping a day of washing brings on dryness and a bit of itch.

I'll try to be back w/ a report.
As of now, it comes in a nice little tin and has me sticking my nose it to to get the pleasant mild scent.

Good news, I got the bottles and half of the oil for the mix. The bad news is that since Amazon is hell-bent on shipping that shit in bags, it arrived broken. They're replacing it, but I'm not holding out hope that they correct the problem.

Okay. I have only had a beard since 2020 with the pandemic and had zero clue to beard care. I ordered the oil and balm from this company and got them today. So far I have tried the oil and my beard already feels softer.
