I'm not missing football at all. I'm catching up on reading (American Assassin, etc.), enjoying music, and watching long overdue series (Deadwood, etc.). Fuck the disrespectful well paid thugs and their league!

These a-holes can move to Africa and play in the NFL over there - the Nigerian Football League.

Btw, die-hard Giants fan here - O'Dell Beckham Jr. just proved what a classless POS he is after scoring against the Eagles.

Yeah they finally did it. I tried to just ignore it and enjoy the game of football. I'm sick of it. I'm glad to hear of the steelers player who still respected our nation but sadly it seems hes in the minority. On the bright side I was keeping cable because I wanted to watch football so problem solved.

The more revenue the NFL loses the larger my smile will become.

So did I. I'm done!

I wonder what Tim Tebow has to say about all this. The NFL didn't like it when he took a knee.

WOW!
I had completely forgotten about that.

Taking a knee in respect for God is outrageous to the NFL, but taking a knee in disrespect for the Country is praised by the NFL.

For God and Country, the NFL is not.

I'm amused by all the NEW talk about unity in the NFL when the entire pre-season & recent discussion has been about the teams colluding against Kapernick and his anti-American stand.

Add comments from the NFLPA President before the season that "Players dont care whether the NFL is around in twenty years, we want our due now" (my remembrance of the quote)

Obviously the question was in relation to a work stoppage in the future, but for here & now - this doesn't look like unity.

NFL Players Association president Eric Winston is not really concerned for himself that a strike in 2021 might be harmful to the future of the league.

In an interview with WCPO in Cincinnati, the Bengals offensive tackle stunningly said, "Honestly, I don't care and I don't think the guys in this locker room care whether (the NFL) is going to be around in 20 years because none of us are going to be playing. So if these guys (the owners) want to own for a long time, then they can own for a long time. But another work stoppage might kill the golden goose."

It's perfectly acceptable to throw up the black panther salute during the national anthem apparently. What a country

That had to do with expressing his faith in God. This has to do with disrespecting the police, the military, and our Country.

I don't like saying "never" but this idiocy is taking its toll. For the last several years I haven't watched much NFL. The hypocrisy and mush that emanates from the League, Dallas is still a cluster despite their successful business model, and having the real deal in Prescott, I am pretty much done after this largest round of team statements saying they're promoting unity, while tarring police and other elements of our society unfairly and broadly, all the while saying we're not disrespecting anyone.

The NFL says they're supporting freedom of expression, and by extension, association.
This the same NFL that'll fine a player if he shows up with the wrong headphones at a post game press conference. The same NFL that doesn't have problem with fatuous commentators like Bob Costas lecturing the fans.

But it's all Trump's fault.....

Pander away, I won't be paying attention.

^God bless Former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva, who stood outside the tunnel alone during the national anthem.

There was only one Steelers player to stand for the national anthem.

Former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva (No. 78) stood by the tunnel with his hand over his heart.

The Steeler roster lists him as 6'9, 320 lbs, a graduate of Army. Wikipedia says:

"Villanueva is also a major in the United States Army, in which he served as an Army Ranger and was decorated with a Bronze Star for valor. He played college football for the Army Black Knights, being recruited at one position and playing three others during the course of his career. After serving three tours of duty in Afghanistan, he signed a contract with the Eagles on May 5, 2014, after working out in a regional showcase."

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Face Book has been flooded with posts and videos of people telling the NFL to shove it. Season ticket holders and lifelong supporters of teams sending messages and videos to the teams telling them about how sick they are of millionaires demonstrating such disrespect and they're done with it. NFL No More

It was really nice to see.
