I Really Love our Fiesta Ware
We have 3 sets of dishes. The first set is china that belonged to my great grandmother. We never take it out of the cupboard. In fact I want to sell it or give it away.

Another set is stoneware I bought in the Philippines while on a WestPac in about 1973. We don't use it.

The last set is a 12 place setting of Fiesta Ware in 12 different colors that we acquired about 15 years ago. It is our everyday, holiday, wedding, funeral and special occasion dinner ware. We love the colors and have never broken or chipped a piece. Once you start with this, you want all the colors.

I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown

We like ours as well. The bowl/plate is my favorite and I use it almost every night.

I just replaced my dishes with my first set of Fiestaware in cobalt blue.

We have a 4 place set that we got as a wedding gift - in 1972! We have never used, or even displayed, it. Sad. Hopefully one of our daughters will want it.

Was the glaze they used radioactive? Or is that just an urban legend?

Not urban legend.

Dad taped a dental Xray film to our orange Fiestaware vase with a paperclip between.

Several days later, the developed film showed the image of the metallic paper clip.

The color orange, specifically was radioactive, iirc.
That was back in the day.
We use our set every day. We’ve had it for 20 years. We do have an older set we keep in the glassed in cupboard to look at - with the radioactive orange.
It holds up well, a d doesn’t have to match.

On the plus side, you don’t need a microwave.

I just finished eating tacos for dinner off my 15 year old Fiestaware. I think in 15 years we managed to break one plate which was easily replaced.

The in-laws liked ours so much, they bought a set of their own.

I like our Fiesta Ware just fine. Their flatware is not holding up as well though.
