We usually stay at La Quinta in Kodak. It’s not the Ritz but it’s been bug free. My only complaint is from my last stay. I messed up and left an expensive jacket hanging in the closet when we left. When I realized it the next day we called and wrote. You would think the cleaning staff would have found it and turned it in. They didn’t have it. Someone got a nice jacket. Aside from that, we have stayed there many times for many years. We have also had great experiences at Wilderness Lodge. They have some really nice expensive rooms and some less expensive ones that have been clean. I can whole heartedly recommend their high end rooms. We enjoy a Cantina called No Way Jose across from the Harley dealer in Pigeon Forge. A word of warning though. We only live a little over an hour away from the area. On the way home we stopped to eat just one exit or two south on I-40 and while in the restaurant my truck and another vehicle had our windows bashed in and items stolen even though we were parked near the front door. They somehow went straight to my go bag which was buried under a bunch of luggage in the back and covered with an old Mexican blanket. They either hit my truck because it had a small FOP medallion on it, or they watched us leave from Smoky Mountain Knife Works and followed us. I never got the Sphinx Subcompact they stole that day back from Indianapolis PD where it was recovered two weeks later in a vehicle connected to a crime. Knoxville and surrounding area have a overwhelming heroine problem so use care with your valuables.

Well, well, well, I wanted to visit the area. But after reading shooters reply, I may change my mind.

Lived in the area for quite some time. Forget Sevierville and stay in Townsend, the peaceful side of the Smokies.

Unless you enjoy word-salads, paragraphs help the reader and gets your point across.

Apology for the thread drift. It was unintended. Slight reason I’m not on top of my writing and paragraph formation lately.

Thanks for the replies. We have stayed at Fairfield Kodak the last two times. Just tire of driving across the interstate a couple times a day.

A second trigger finger surgery and carpal tunnel. Definitely harder to swing a Viking axe and type on the phone.

I understand the drive part. We often get season tickets to Dollywood and when we stay in Kodak, first hotel across the river from Smoky Mountain Knife works, we often get stuck in traffic for an hour just driving from Kodak to Dollywood. We’ve wanted to check out the Dollywood Resort Hotel located a short drive from Dollywood. I would think it would be bug free as well. We have also stayed at a small hotel between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but closer to Gatlinburg, and it sits on the river so that when you’re on the patio you’re looking down at the river. It’s the Baymont Inn. It’s small but was bug free when we last stayed there.

Depends on how he operates but mine will be 3 weeks or so. The hand will be healed on the outside and by then so quite a bit but not everything yet according to my surgeon. My dominant hand is next. After this one I’m less hesitant.
