Well, I got to anchorage, but it took 24 hours of pain and waiting before I finally got to the doc.

It's fractured, and dislocated. I got out of surgery a few hours ago where they put a cage on it to straighten it back out, hey will work on re building it in 7-8 days when the swelling has gone down.

Glad you got it looked at and that you at least know what you're dealing with.

Try to enjoy your forced vacation. Once you have mended somewhat you can use some devices to speed healing. You can ask for a bone stimulator, which is a microcurrent device. It can speed fracture healing at least 2:1. You can also use a "cold laser" to reduce inflammation and increase ATP production, which will speed healing. I like the TerraQuant brand laser, which is essentially the same as the Multi Radiance MR4. You can sometimes find a used TQ on ebay for at half price or less.

Dang, I was hoping for something less in terms of the injury. Glad you were able to get good medical attention.
Did you get on a small commercial or private flight? Or did the coastie's take you. A joke of course.

A prayer for healing bud.

I didn't get evacuated, just got on a small commercial flight...which was 6 hours late. If it hadn't of taken so long to get here, the emergency surgery last night might have been avoided. I was lucky, the flight I was on was a beechcraft 99 so there was lots of leg room. Since I'm in anchorage, it gives me a good opportunity to get a rifle for my wife, thinking a t3x super lite in 6.5 creedmore for her.

Man, sometimes stuff just happens. And it's never at a good time. I once broke my foot just stepping off a curb.

Having suffered through a number of foot surgeries, I can tell you this hands free crutch kept me from losing my mind. Not being able to use my hands while on crutches was a PITA. And this keeps the foot elevated more, too. My doctors thought it was great.

I tried one of those and didn't care for it. It ended up really aggravating my lower back. A knee scooter is the only way to go IMO.

it worked for me. Scooters can't do stairs, and I had to. It's really important to adjust them properly.

You should probably stay off your feet, no matter what. Shopping is likely to put undue strains on your food and cause problems. You are probably on pain meds, and will not notice much.
