https://nationalfile.com/video...tabbed-in-dc-attack/ Newly-released video surveillance footage shows the random and broad daylight stabbing of a staffer for Kentucky U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R) on a sidewalk in Washington, D.C. Video surveillance footage has been released showing the random and broad daylight stabbing of Rand Paul staffer Phillip Todd, which took place in March. Todd was seriously injured in the attack, requiring several surgeries and even suffering from a collapsed lung and a brain bleed as a result of the stabbing. Glynn Neal, a 42-year-old black man, was arrested shortly after the attack took place and has been charged with assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon. Previous reports have revealed that Neal was fresh off of a prison at the time of the March attack, having been released just ONE DAY prior, and he reportedly told officers that he was “hearing voices” when he stabbed and seriously injured Phillip Todd. Neal had actually been released from prison early, having earned “good time credit” during his stint with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, having wound up there after being convicted of running a brutal prostitution ring. Though, as previously mentioned, assailant Glynn Neal was arrested shortly after the attack, a Washington D.C. judge has ruled that he is not competent to stand trial. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." It's interesting that he was competent enough to stand trial for running a 'brutal prostitution ring' but is incompetent to stand trial for an offense which occurred just one day after having been released from prison on that charge.

Also, it looks like he was sentenced to 12 years and four months in March of 2011 so his 'good time credit' doesn't seem to have amounted to much.

Relatively few people come out of prison in better shape than when they went in. And don’t believe the crap about federal prisons being somehow easier than state prisons. Some of the worst of the worst are doing federal time.

Politely disagree. If you are incarecerated, a Federal prison is MUCH easier time than a state prison or a county jail. Neither is particularly skilled at rehabilitation. Parchman farm and Angola are hell holes.

Frankly, they probably need to be “hell” in a different manner, to discourage recidivism. We have to make honest toil, at even very menial jobs, more appealing than crime. Most felonies are committed by the broken - and frankly, we should be more aggressive about being back “3 strikes you’re out” laws to ensure the habitual felons are locked up for life, as soon as possible - but for the idiotic, prison needs to be far more miserable.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It is far more miserable than you realize. Your entire life is regulated. The food you eat, the time you get up and go to bed, how you spend your time. Having worked in a Federal Correction prison you realize how miserable it is. Getting along with fellow inmates is not easy.
