Summer fill propane delivery cost.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I need to get my tank filled and was shocked at the summer prices now.

$3.49...which is double the usual summer price.

Outrageous!

Just be glad you aren't paying for heating oil which I've seen at $6.50-$7.00 a gallon around here Confused

We just checked for giggles. $2.25 for complete fill, or $3.00 for minimum fill of 250 gallons.

On a related note: My buddy with property out in the middle of nowhere in northern Michigan is trying to acquire a 1000 gal.(or is it 1000 lb.?) pig and can't find anyone to sell him one for love nor money.

Don't know if it has anything to do with supply chain or not.

I went through this a few years ago, contacted a tank manufacturer directly, and they pointed me towards a farmer's COOP that would sell me one.

Propane suppliers typically don't want to sell them because they can "rent" them to you and lock you into their propane prices.

I was on a prepaid contract and decided to do it at my winter fill rate of 1.59 a gallon back in April because I wasn't confident prices would actually drop.

They claim it does.

Thanks. I'll pass this along to my buddy.

Yeah, well, here's another oddity: If I understood what I heard while my buddy was talking to his LPG supplier: They won't rent him a tank because he already owns a 500 lb. (gal.?) pig. WTF?

I have a 125 gallon tank that only runs my fireplace. It was down to around 10% so I scheduled a fill up. 79 gallons at 3.45 a gallon! Just 4 days ago. It was about 3/4 full when we moved here and used the fireplace on cold days in the winter. I was kind stuck with this tank lease when I bought the house. I suppose I could break the lease and buy a tank but I don’t use much gas. If my entire house was running on propane I’d consider an alternative
