I don't know.... but I did get the propane tank for the grill filled for $10 and thought it was a pretty good deal.

Some placers here charge a flat rate.

sig229-SASWe just topped off our 500 gal. propane tank, 300 gallons at $1.65 gal. discounted from $1.99 because of the amount.

It is $2.99 in the Carolinas at Tractor supply. A drop off/ replacement is 18.99, so it is not worth my time, gas, and milage to drive 24 miles roundtrip to the TSC to save $3.50.
BJ's wholesale used to be great- I think $7.99, but recently is has been $14.99.

drill sgtDon"t know the price he charges but son-in-law took over the family propane business 2 yrs ago when his mother passed away. He fills bottles that people bring to him. business has been active for 35yrs. He charges Only the actual gas pumped. Weighs bottle prior to filling and only charges for actual gas pumped. The other businesses around here charge for full bottle weight Not what was pumped. Has a good repeat customer base because of the way he treat them. Also sells new bottles and can re-certify dates on older bottles. ...................drill sgt.

Gene HillmanWe have a 1000 gallon tank which will hold 800 gallons when full. We use about 1000 gallons per year with central heating of 1475 square feet, water heating, gas stove and emergency generator. Last weeks price was $1.19 per gallon summer fill or prepay. This week has risen to $1.29 per gallon. I purchased about 1300 gallons on the prepay at the $1.19 price and we have 500 gallons in the tank right now so I should finish next winter with a full tank and maybe have some left over.

aileronPaid $1.16/gal yesterday. Price would have been a dime higher if < 400 gallons. 1,000 gallon tank was at 35% pre-fill

OK, the place up on the way to Lebanon, OH has $10 Tuesday. There's no question my tank is empty. The grill won't light. But I have no idea how to convert 20# into gallons. Since its on my way to a place I go twice a month anyway, its a lot cheaper than the $25 I'd pay to Blue Rhino. I've got 2 tanks, and we're on the 2nd one now with an empty out in the garage. One of my sons has a bunch of empties he scored somehow. Guess I should get one of his, but 2 of them seem enough. So to answer the question again, I pay $10 to fill a 20# tank.

cruiser68I believe the 20# grill tanks take a little over 6 gallons if empty. My memory sucks though and I refilled a bunch of tanks about 3 weeks ago.

a1abdjJust like gas prices, propane pricing will vary depending upon which part of the country you are in.
Around here, July and August are typically the best months to purchase. As of a week ago I was quoted $1.29 from the COOP which is typically substantially lower than the other propane providers.

Appliance BradIt was $1.39 a gallon on 5/28/20 We only heat water and use the gas range in the summer. We probably will top off in September and go back on keep full for the winter.

$1.85/gallon if paying with cash or check when delivered. A dime extra if you pay with a credit card or get billed.
It kind of seems like we’re getting screwed.
