V-TailSpeed Queen Lid Detector
With our old washer, my wife could put a small magnet on the lid detector so that the washer would continue filling with water with the lid open while she added detergent.
We replaced the old washer with a Speed Queen and can not find where the lid detector is.
Can anybody give me a clue?

83v45magnaGet the model number and google it - it should bring up multiple sites that want to sell parts with exploded drawings and such.

GaryBFThat video wasn't very helpful. Where is the switch and how do access it?

Brett257I have a TC5000, so if you have a different model, this could mean nothing.
The lid switch is on the back of the machine just below the control panel. It's on the right side behind and below the cycle selection knob.
If you get reach behind, there is a hole that allows you to feel the "tab" move when you open and close the lid. You can also see it through the inside of the machine if you point a flashlight to the back right corner just above the wash tub. As you move the lid, you will see it move.
I clipped a clothes pin on it and it took care of it. Unless you pull the machine out, you will be working blind, but once you know where the tab is, you should be able to manage.
Let me know if that works for you.

V-TailBINGO!
Thank you Brett and Power Surge.
Found the tab, verified that it does move when opening the lid.
Now all I need to do is place a CraigsList ad for a midget contortionist to apply the clothespin and the problem will be solved.

jimmy123xUse a set of super long reach needle nose pliars to put the clothes pin on.
