Marine vet says, "That's not a hand. THIS is a hand" By LAUREN ACTON-TAYLOR, US NEWS REPORTER PUBLISHED: 10:57 EDT, 6 June 2026 | UPDATED: 12:28 EDT, 6 June 2026 A Maryland Marine veteran was forced to remember his training as four hooded teenagers quickly regretted pulling a gun on him during an attempted robbery. Jheyco Borda, 35, was working on his truck Wednesday afternoon in Oxon Hill when the teens approached him at around 4.30. Surveillance footage captured the moment one teen reached into his pocket just moments later and pulled out a gun, pointing it directly at Borda. 'I saw six kids come by playing around… and out of my corner of my eye, they stepped in front of my car,' Borda told Telemundo44. 'I saw them put on a face mask. As soon as I figured that one out, I was like, something's about to go down.' The Marine said he told the teen that his truck was on and the keys were inside before they also demanded his phone. 'I gave [my phone] to him. When he got distracted looking at my phone, that was the split second when I grabbed the gun out of his hand,' he continued. The footage showed the moment Borda lunged at the teenager, sparking a commotion on the side of the street. Borda's brother, who is planning on enlisting in the Air Force, quickly ran out to help disarm the teenager. While two of the other teens backed away from the brawl, another circled around the truck and launched at the scuffle. Both brothers were able to overpower the teens. 'We are trained to fight or flight and it was my instinct in a split second,' Borda told WUSA 9. 'Every split second counts a lot, and they teach us that in there.' According to Borda, the gun fired during the commotion, and, while no one was injured, it left a hole on the side of his truck. The pair then managed to hold the teens down until law enforcement from the Prince George’s County Police Department arrived, Fox 5 reported. According to the outlet, the four teens were taken into custody. The Daily Mail reached out to Prince George's County Police Department for comment. Q

I like how the two ran away just like the Lee Child character Jack Reacher says Jeb: "Are you kidding? It's five against one." Jack Reacher: "It's three against one." Jeb: "How do you figure?" Jack Reacher: "Well, once I take out the leader, which is you, I'll have to contend with one or two enthusiastic wingmen. The last two guys, they always run." Marines are trained on how to break someones neck. Might have been a better outcome if a couple of necks were broken while "restraining" those teens. I've stopped counting.
