Thank you for that. If you've recently lost your best friend, I know to well what you're going through.

We have an 8 1/2yr old Rottie diagnosed with Diabetes a few months ago. Insulin injections twice a day has helped, but he's lost his vision.

He's my best friend...

Yes. Had to send my 9yo GSD boy into the clearing at the end of the path about a month ago. He was eaten up with cancer, and it sucks. Still sucks. I miss him every day.

I have lost many friends like that over the years.

I also have many older dogs now, and dreading what will come in the future.

Thank you for posting what we all feel.

That brought a tear to my eye.

My dog's 16th birthday will be this Saturday. Her vision and hearing aren't what they used to be and she's having trouble with her left knee joint. Her clock is ticking but so is mine and so are all of our clocks.

Every day is a gift.

Ok, I too shed a tear while reading this.

Claire is now 12 and in pretty good shape, but she is still 12 years old. She is our fourth Lab and I need to learn appreciate each day as much as she does.

Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks for posting that. Even though this is about our canine friends, it made me think about my two boy kitties (brothers) I had for 18 years that had to be put down some 16 years ago. Yup...brings tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat when I think about them, which is often. Frown But I now have two new female kitties (sisters...not yet 2 y.o.) that I hope will be with me for just as long. I'm certainly spoiling them that much, if not more! Smile

I'm also one to keep the collars, leashes, and even a few favorites toys of each of my pups. Also as many great pictures as I can. My current dog is going to the groomer in an hour, think I'll get the camera and try for some shots when he gets back.

Teared up. But unfortunately I’m in the crowded cafeteria. I love dogs. I miss my dog. How can you not love something that loves you so purely?
