I posted a while back about my issue of only being able to sleep for a couple of hours, waking up and not being able to get back to sleep. Previous thread: Any tips for staying asleep?

Well, a couple of weeks back I started drinking a cup of Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra and let me say, it actually works, it doesn't give me a headache like melatonin (which doesn't really help anyway) and even if I do wake up, it lasts long enough that I'm able to fall back to sleep until the alarm goes off.

I try to drink it about an hour before bedtime to give myself enough time to pee and I've been good.

Give it a try.

Thanks for the tip,I'll have to try this.

It's not that final pee before bedtime that's the issue, it's the 2 or 3 times during the night. I'm in my early sixties now, my primary care doctor usually asks about this each year during my annual physical. I used to give him a puzzled look when he asked, but now at least I have an answer for him. No diagnosed issues, except enough birthdays now to expect this. Smile

I've toured their plant. Really interesting. When we got to the room where they store the mint was a really powerful smell. It just rolled out of that room when they opened the door. I spent 30 seconds in there until I had to step out.

I remember those old commercials of Moe Siegel in a freaking kimono or something, sitting on the floor of some living room, looking like he just smoked a fat joint of Humboldt county's finest.

OK, here's one. Different commercial. Same living room, same Moe. No kimono.

Hey, man, that's oooooone mellow cat.......

Can it be drunk cold instead of hot and have the same effect? Not a fan of hot tea, but at this point, I'll try almost anything given the amount of sleep I'm 'not' getting each night.

I have no recollection of that. I was a late night TV aficionado so I'm assuming I've blocked it out.

I'd imagine that it would work the same. I'll try it.

I remember that guy. I never tried his tea but if it really helps you fall asleep might give it a go.

Looks like they have two versions of Sleepytime. One with valerian and one without. Get the stuff with valerian.
