Chick-fil-A Tests Sliders, Introduces Peach Tea Lemonade

May 31, 2018

Chick-fil-A is sweetening up the menu during the “The Sumer of Peach” with two seasonal menu items rolling out nationwide on Thursday, as well as some pilots that have potential to expand further. White Peach Tea Lemonade is a new refreshing beverage that combines Chick-fil-A’s classic Iced Tea and Lemonade (or Diet Lemonade) with fresh white peach flavor. The beverage launches in all restaurants following a successful test in South Carolina last spring. The Peach Milkshake, a summertime customer favorite, also returns to menus nationwide.

In addition, customers at participating restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, can order a new snack from the Chick-fil-A menu: Chick-n-Sliders. Available for a limited time through the summer, Chick-n-Sliders are made with Chick-fil-A’s signature chicken filet served on a warm roll and topped with honey butter spread. Chick-n-Sliders are available in the test markets during the lunch, snack, and dinner hours.

Chick-fil-A is also piloting a breakfast item all day. Starting June 4, customers at participating restaurants in Tampa, Florida, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Indianapolis will be able to order breakfast favorite Chick-n-Minis throughout the day for a limited time this summer. Chick-n-Minis will be available in 4-count, 10-count and catering tray options.

“Both Chick-n-Sliders and Chick-n-Minis are delicious snack options for guests to enjoy throughout the day, and feedback from customers in these test markets will help determine if they are added to the menu nationwide,” says Amanda Norris, senior director of menu development for Chick-fil-A.

White Peach Tea Lemonade starts at $1.89 for a small and $2.09 for a large. A small (16-ounce) White Peach Tea Lemonade has 160 calories when made with regular Lemonade and 90 calories when made with Diet Lemonade. A large (20-ounce) White Peach Tea Lemonade has 200 calories when made with regular Lemonade and 120 calories when made with Diet Lemonade.

“Customers often order a tea/lemonade combination at our restaurants,” Norris says. “This is the first time we’re officially adding the popular flavor combo to the menu, with the extra flavor of an essential summer ingredient. The White Tea Peach Lemonade combines all the flavors of summer for a refreshing beverage we think our customers will love.”

Chick-fil-A, which has more than 2,300 restaurants in 47 states and Washington, D.C., reported more than $9 billion in revenue in 2017, which marked 50 consecutive years of sales growth.

If their portion size shrinks any lower, they might as well be called sliders. Their "strips" have become embarrasingly small. Might as well be nuggets.

AMEN!

'Cause not everybody wants to make their own Frown...

Original Chick-fil-A Cole Slaw Recipe
Prep Time: 5 minutes

Yield: Serves 6-8

Sweet Chick-fil-A Cole Slaw, beloved to pair with one of the chain's spicy fried chicken sandwiches, is discontinued. Luckily, you can still make it at home.

Ingredients

4 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup mayonnaise
2 (10-ounce) bags fine shredded cabbage, chopped to one-eighth inch
1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
Directions

Whisk vinegar, sugar, mustard and salt together until sugar is dissolved. Add mayonnaise and whisk to mix. Add cabbage and carrots. Mix to combine. Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve.
Makes 6-8 servings.
Notes

Recipe source: Chick-fil-A

Better go early when it opens. Latest Chik-fil-A to open in Tucson was deluged with customers. Lines around the block. Police directing traffic.
