What a shoot out! Very entertaining. Big Grin

And Coach Prime, aka Dion Sanders, who inherited last year's 1-11 Colorado team doing major surgery returning only 3 starters (if I have my facts straight) to national criticism, and recruiting some serious talent including his son at QB (who transferred from Jackson State) to field a very very good team to win 45-42 against TCU who played for the national championship last year.

All the Coach Prime nay-sayers must be in shock!

And FWIW I'm not a fan of either team but just find Sanders as a coach to be something quite out of the ordinary.

Incredible first game for Sanders and the Buffs, a team I seriously dislike. Huskers travel to Boulder next Saturday and many of its fans are semi-suicidal; Husker Nation was marking that game a “W.”

I was more than impressed by CU offense. Lots of playmakers on that side of the ball.

On another note, I don’t think the Huskers ought to be marking anything as a W just yet. That loss the other night to MN was atrocious. Football is better when NE is good. Maybe Matt Ruhle can get it done. I think he will.

Ugh. Yeah was not a good showing for my TCU, that Hunter kid on CU is a heck of an athlete.

What was interesting to me was the amount of returning players on each team. CU and TCU had the two lowest percentages of returning players in a power 5 conference.

Missed the game today, but looking forward to next week with Nebraska. Always a big game at Folsom. I go back to the '71 season when it was Nebraska, Oklahoma, and CU 3rd nationally.

I thought I was a great game! Not a Sanders fan but he coached a good game. I’ve been watching TCU for the past few years. We get a lot of their games here.

I was at the University of Kentucky game and we had it on so I was watching a little bit here and there.

I have always been a Deon Sanders fan. Baseball, football, and now coaching.
Hope he does well.

Was very impressed with the job he has done, then watched the piss poor performance of Ohio State. It’s pretty awsome to see what Sanders has done with that program, I hope he continues with the success.

That was indeed a good game. There is some real talent on that team.

Good football game. Started to look like an old shootout between Tech and TCU.

My daughter went to CU a few years ago and we went to a few games (only a 45 minute drive). Airforce has it's falcon, Georgia has it's bulldog, Florida has it's gator; but only Cu has Ralphie, coolest mascot in the country Smile

I was pulling for TCU, but they had no defense. I was wondering if Deion's son the QB was going to be able to transition to D1. He threw for 510 yards and 4 TDs, I guess we found out. Not a fan of Deion running 57 players off the CU squad this year.

Huh? If these guys couldn't perform...they were 1-11 last year...they lost the privilege of playing for CU again. Deion Sanders handed out new athletic scholarships to those he felt would perform sufficiently in return unlike those who failed and were sent packing. I see absolutely nothing wrong with him "running off" such players who also might have thought they were "entitled" (the old jock syndrome).

And proof is in the pudding with this win to start CU's season.

Didn't get to see it. Our Fox station is currently fighting with Direct TV. So, that station is among a handful of others that are blocked.

Sanders has a tough row to hoe. First year, and a tough schedule to come. TCU lost a lot of last year's players. Even with last year's roster, there is no way TCU would be able to repeat last year's charmed season.

It’s a new world in college athletics. Here in WV, we're seeing a similar phenomenon in high school athletics since our state legislature changed the law involving students transferring. People are up in arms currently because the first week of the season saw some games with scores of 86-6 or so. There are many factors to consider.

I do believe it’s telling when you look where the 60 former CU players ended up after leaving: only a few stayed at the Power 5 level while most ended up at FCS or lower. As far as we know no one has broken any rules. Naturally ethics/morals don’t always correlate with the law. I won’t be surprised when a few more teams follow suit by turning over their rosters in the coming years. As usual it’s all about the money.

I'm willing to let the transfer program shake out for a few years. It's going to give really good kids who are second and third-stringers on top teams the opportunity to go elsewhere and play. Most of these kids know they're not going to make the NFL. They just want to play.

I'm not convinced just yet that Deon Sanders is the second coming of Bear Bryant . It's just one game .If he can turn things around then I'll be right there singing his praises .

I agree. Next week's game against Nebraska will be a better barometer.

It's going to be a tough year. They play 4 currently top 20 ranked teams this season. Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, and USC. Honestly, the defense has a whole lot of work to do.
