The Derek Chauvin Trial

NavyGuyThe Derek Chauvin Trial
A change in my thinking. I would now never advise my grandkids to go into law enforcement. The pay is not compensatory to the risks, both on the street and God forgive you make an honest mistake. Just not worth it. Let the left get their way and no cops. Oh, I'll love to see how that works out.
Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Their children, brought up easy, let it slip away again, poor fools. And their grandchildren are once more slaves.

gw3971well if my brothers and sisters in law enforcement didn't get the message with the Chauvin verdict then I hope the are listening to Keith Ellison and his victory speech. Cops you are the targets.

I always thought is someone dies, it could be manslaughter or murder, and there are different degrees of murder, but in the end, it’s only one. If it’s manslaughter, it’s not murder. If it’s second degree murder than it’s not manslaughter or first degree murder, and so on. Multiple charges, but the jury chooses which one, if any, is appropriate to the exclusion of the others.
Can someone with real legal knowledge explain how this works?
I'm an attorney, but not a Minnesota one. I believe the lesser included charges will merge. He'll be sentenced on the 2nd Degree Murder. I wonder where this country will be in a year or two when the MN Court of Appeals gets around to hearing this.

konata88I'd like to see some of these BLM folks be temporarily hired to these police departments and given the responsibility to place these guys under arrest. Let's see how well they do.

The problem with that is the losers and unqualified will fill the police vacancies and the left will use that against them for further "police reforms". Crime will rise and eventually citizens will have to step in and take a stand. We already now what the left thinks of people who can take a stand...

I’m not understanding Minnesota law on this. One death, 3 convictions of crimes involving an element of causation for that death, and all with different levels of intent. How could the counts not be charged only in the alternative?
He will only be punished for one of the counts. The lesser convictions are as if they didn't happen.

c1steveI believe most LEOs in Democrat run cities should quit or retire, and let the cities fend for themselves. Lots of crime, murder, theft. The Dem cities are headed this way, let them reap what they sow. If the murder rate goes 10x what it is today, so be it.

He will eventually be aquited of the most serious charges. It's hard to believe reasonable doubt was not established.
We are scarily close to mob rule in this Country but I still believe the right thing will be done once the mob has moved onto the next crusade.

By then, it could be revised to 1st degree murder with a hate crime rider. I would hate to have to be tried by a jury these days in any liberal stronghold. Your chances of an unbiased fair trial is circling the bowl.

I'll bet those jurors were terrified to find any other verdict than guilty.
I doubt it. I'm betting they were chomping at the bit from the get go to find Chauvin guilty.
Guessing the idea is to vote guilty quick, and punt kick it down the road on to someone elses desk. After two years, IF he gets acquitted then the news story on him is over, and no one cares to relive the situation, no riots and the world could look different.

Doesn't matter. Just like after the election, the kids were all hopped up and ready to go. When their guy "won", they stood down. For a while. Too much bad juju there, they've ramped back up since then, acting out at any excuse, made up or not.
But as of this moment, black fragility wins the day.

nhracecraftThis will only serve to embolden a 'certain element' of society, and that will create some VERY Dangerous times. I'm afraid that Widespread Lawlessness is in our future, and it would not surprise me if, out of sheer desperation, Widespread LEO 'sickouts' are coming as well. Things are going to get ugly, and violence in the extreme seems inevitable....Especially in the Democrat run Leftist Shitholes!
While an armed society is a polite society, a 'certain element' of our society is anything but polite! I can't imagine I'll be leaving the house unarmed anytime soon!

mrapteam666I was just talking with my mom and even she said it was a sham.
She did feel that Chauvin should be found guilty of something but not all of those charges.
What is sad/sickening/pathetic is that all these so called social activist picked a less than stellar individual to plant their flag on. What about all the killings in Chicago, Baltimore, Columbus OH etc.. of their own people.
Or the innocent little kids that are gunned down needlessly by drive by shootings, gang mopes, etc..
That is the double standard...
At one time I loved working all the various sectors, running and gunning all night long but now I figure why bother... Let them eat themselves. .
So many of my friends and former co-workers have tossed their badges on the desk and walked out in pursuit of happiness and a new career.

Pretty simple. Rocks glass. A sugar cube, a healthy dash of bitters (from Bitters Lab, a Salt Lake City company, excellent), a bit of the brine from the jar of luxardo cherries dribbled in, then muddled with a splash of water or sometimes simple syrup. If I'm not too lazy I'll muddle in the orange peel as well. Three ice cubes. Then topped almost all the way up with Knob Creek Rye. Then I add two or three luxardo cherries.
