I had Defenders on a Malibu. Good general purpose tire.

I have been really happy with General Tire tires on my Mazda for the past two sets and plan to get a set for my wife’s Honda Odyssey when it’s due.

They are General Tire AltiMAX RT45, looks like General is part of Continental Tire which makes some of the best tires in the world.

That's something I've never read on the current CrossClimate2 while reading some tests (including Consumer Reports) where they've exceeded their warranty rating. Ride quality has been brought up a lot along with tire noise, but longevity hasn't been a problem on the current tires.

My next set of tires are going to be Goodyear Weatherready 2s. They're about as good as the CrossClimate2s in winter condition, but also have a better ride and while having better lateral grip. The downside to them seem to be low rolling resistance so your MPG may go down a little.

Pirelli Scorpion AS 3 are very smooth riders while the Scorpion WeatherActive are more of a sporty tire that works better in wet/snow, but they're also made in Brazil while Michelin and Goodyear have plants in US/Canada making their tires.

I have Walmart plus membership and it comes with free lifetime balance, free rotation, and free road hazard replacement if a tire is prematurely damaged or gets a puncture outside the repairable area. So I like to get my tries at Walmart.

These tires are on my wifes CRV and they are excellent with good wet and dry grip.

She ordered Michelin Defenders from Costco. I have them on my Impala, I like them, but then I now drive like the old man I am.
I never understood why Discount Tire doesn't do alignments, doesn't make sense. Does Costco?

That's what was on my CRV when I inherited them. If I lived in an area with frequent rain like Seattle, or frequent snow like the mid to upper Midwest, I'd definitely consider them.

But they were overkill for the weather in my area, and only lasted like 25k-30k miles.

I love my crossclimate 2's. they are now selling the 3's. I havent had any trouble with them being loud or any issues with wear.. I have had them for three years and no sign of wear. I bought mine at Costco!!

Discount Tires does do alignments, but not all DT locations are set up with the necessary equipment for alignments.

2 of the 5 DTs near me do not, but 3 of them do.

We've been using Continentals on my Infiniti and the wife's Lexus after mostly running Michelin's for years.
They've had great ride, wear and handling. Probably the #1 consideration to me was the wear is better than the Michelin's.
Either brand would be a good choice.
