nope - about as useless as a screen door on a submarine

airplanes fly straight, they take off straight and land straight

there are runway safety zones at the approach and departure ends of runways

can you imagine trying to create a safety zone around a circular runway?

the idea is so stupid....well, obviously thought of by someone thats never seen an airplane Smile

What???

I don't pilot but I don't need to be one to see the gaps in his explanation.

More green? A circular footprint takes up the most area for a given perimeter.

Planes will tend to go towards the center?? Has he not heard of centripetal force?

Illiminate dangers from cross winds??? By making sure every plane will experience cross winds and it circles down?

Can you imagine the logistical nightmare of projecting all the vectors in and out of the airport?

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
