Never 'tictoc' access but something else than won't leave
last week or so an unwanted resident 'temu' something is trying to make it easy to buy plush toys.
It won't leave with any of the easy 'delete' commands.
My Norton doesn't see anything invasive or malignant. Anyone need any plushtoys?
I have no information on this program.

So I just did a quick search, there's pages & pages of links & comments.
I was hoping to be able to communicate the idea I don't want their link to remain resident on my home screen, and I need help in finding a way to make it go away.
Never had any program ever do this 'remain in occupation' icon presence.

Sounds like malware, signewt. It's a shopping platform but you should be able to uninstall it.
This is a Windows PC?

Windows 10 PC. DDG browser. No known contact with this company prior to sudden appearance after a search for a photo of a certain kind of human skin parasite. They popped up with a photo of their stuffed plush toy & wide array of on line products.
I have no real malware experience as Norton has worked well prior to this.

Do you know how to start Win10 in Safe Mode? If you start in Safe Mode (no need for Safe Mode with networking) you should be able to unistall this Chinese spyware.
Sons o' bitches
A really dangerous way to get rid of it (and I know the PC techs will cringe at this) is to run regedit and find everything in the registry that says "temu" and nuke it. Of course you will want to first back up the registry. This would be a last resort method, but I've done this kind of thing before. Be advised that by doing this, there is a risk of making your PC unbootable- though not as much of a risk as many would lead you to believe.
There are freeware programs out there to get rid of this kind of stuff. CCleaner might do the trick.

So this link is on your home screen of your Duck Duck Go browser? Have you gone into your browser settings and checked what options are set for your home screen?
Edit: I didn't know that Duck Duck Go had a browser so I searched for it and found that their browser is only for IOS, Android and macOS. No Windows version is available but you can add a DDG extension to any browser. So you really need to break down what the problem is once you are wide awake and coherent.

Do you have your computer set to create restore points regularly? Pick the closest restore point prior to it showing up and see if that clears it.

Yup.
It's been going on six years I've been retired, thus since I've dealt with MS-Win boxen, but CCleaner was in my arsenal.
