1. Here in yUK it WAS considered to be an armed robbery - 'using an imitation firearm in the commission of a crime' - ie robbery - is armed robbery here, too, hence the rather porky sentence for an 18-y/o.

2. I was working for the Crown 'Persecution Service' - the prosecution. I have absolutely zero sympathy for this little piece of shite. What was there in my post that made you think otherwise?

It's not that I'm impressed with regards to what's out there now, I'm impressed with regards to what people normally purchase. Smile

My wife retired from working in a Tom Thumb pharmacy about 7 years ago. The in store survalience cameras they had could read the type of the bill you handed a pharm tech at the checkout counter. You handed me a $20?...Well let's see.

I was surprised initially at this photo because when the local news posts video from criminal acts at gas stations, and convenience stores etc., it his absolutely horrible. You seldom can tell sex or race.

I know the local casinos have excellent video. I have just never seen it and it is a rather closely guarded secret. Every square inch of the casino floor is covered and monitored 24 hours per day. When the casinos first arrived here in the early 90s everyone was very uncomfortable with them. Now we have become comfortable being monitored all the time.

What truly scares me is just how much of a surveillance society New Orleans is.

There are over 4000 registered currently by private citizens feeding into databases, not just at the residence. NOPD added an additional 200 last year. I can't find how many NOPD really has

It's not just NO. If you are on the island of Manahattan for any length of time you were probably taped or photographed. The NYPD has access to most if not all of the cameras on commercial property, in real time.

I know someone who got in trouble in a fairly rural area of Orange county NY, and the police went and got the security footage from every camera they could get their hands on. The end result was his story was busted big time. Always assume the man is watching.
