Do squirrels like Resses's Peanut Butter Cups?
I suggested to the wife that for Halloween, we should fill the squirrel feeder err bird feeder with Reese's Cups and mini Milky Way bars and see how they like the change in diet.

I know that squirrels are merely rats with fluffy tails and acrobatic skills, so they'll eat just about anything if hungry enough. My question is- which Halloween confections would the squirrels favor, if presented with a choice. Candies would still be in their wrappers, of course.

So, a big pile of Snickers, Reese's, Mounds, Almond Joy, Kit-Kat, Three Musketeers, Skittles, Candy Corn, what have ya- what would the squirrels go for?

I feel like they might go for a payday, or a salted nut roll.

Candy corn. Squirrels love corn

Popcorn balls, but I don't think they would fit in a bird feeder unless they are homemade minis. Caramel corn, or go all the way with Cracker Jack.

No, imagine a gigantic pile of candy on the ground and here come the squirrels.

Popcorn balls- yeah, I can see that. Cracker Jack, too.

But uhh, there's no corn in candy corn, unless it's corn syrup. Razz

Anything with peanuts; the neighbor puts shelled peanuts in her feeder and I find the damn things all over the place. Payday, if a soft chewy center is desired, Planters Peanut Bar, if crunchy.

Either would be hilarious to watch- that sugar would be like crack I would think Big Grin

Don't forget about the raccoons.
They gotta eat too.
They have rights too you know.

Mine are hopelessly addicted to peanuts, so anything peanut related would be a hit.
I get only non-salted peanuts. I am concerned about their cholesterol levels.

Some of them would probably attain the power of flight.

My wife gave them some old stale peanut butter cookies once and they were gone in nothing flat. Not even a crumb left. Smile

Snickers, definitely, all Snickers. Lots of Snickers. And should the little tree rats snub them, I will gladly take them off your hands.

Baby Ruth would be my guess on what a squirrel would like. Almost anything with peanuts or peanut butter would be a hit.

Arc.
