What a great story. So many people underestimate their dogs and what they are capable of.

That is cool but what about the dogs safety? Is he somehow secured to the bike?

He's safer not being secured to it. They practiced for 4 months before even taking the bike out of the driveway according to the video, the dog knows how to ride!

It isn't like we have any data or ever will, but I bet the dog has a lot better chance in a wreck than the owner in terms of injury severity. Simply because he is a lot lighter and a lot more agile.

That's a special bond with an amazing dog. You can tell he loves being on the bike.

But how does one train a dog to behave in the event of a collision? I would think a side car would be a better option for my best friend.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of, the dog getting hurt but that smile on his face...

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
