Quote of the Day - Edmund Burke
Today, I was googling for the exact wording of Edmund Burke's most famous quote, and came across this quote which seem pertinent to the lack of civility in society.
quote:
Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength.

Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity

Burke's most famous quote was premature.

"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to have insurance." Allen's Refinement of Burke's Quote

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Bwahahaha!!! My laughter woke my cat up from her afternoon slumber and she is giving me the groggy WTF? look.

My Dad retired from autobody, and he hated what insurance did to that industry. Straight outta college kids who didn't know the difference between a fender and a door skin were second guessing stuff like blending the paint on a new door into the fender and quarter panel. He is still happily retired and doesn't miss dealing with insurance. He also used to opine that if insurance is doing this to autobody, I can't imagine what they're doing to medicine.
