Connections (game)
We have a long running wordle thread (I look but never contribute) but seems we don’t have a connections thread and I actually prefer it over wordle.

I got todays without any mistakes but it was difficult and I spent way to much time on it.

It’s another NYT game. I use the app (wordle, connections, and a few other games (I also do Strands)). I’m not smart enough to post a link because every time I click it it just opens my app.

Google connections NYT and you can’t miss it.

And here I thought this was going to be about the 1980s TV series “Connections” which linked History and Science to inventions.

I do it along with Wordle daily.
Word of advice to those new to it, be patient.
It takes a bit to get into a groove on it. I've had to learn to think like the developers of the puzzle to be successful.
I usually try to guess the exact category on the last choice as an extra challenge. Often fail as some of the "connections" can be pretty obscure.

Just walked away from Connections for a bit this morning. This is only the second or third time in a year or so that they have done one of the "image" puzzles. I f'ing hate these types.
Got one line and can't see another.
Perhaps in an hour or so something will click.

My first time seeing one of these image puzzles. I just about said screw it, but got one line, then another. I got the purple line third and then the blue line by default, but I didn’t “get it” before I clicked it.

2/4 on the photo puzzle.
Got 1 really quickly, 2nd took a few minutes, the others were trickier

Not to derail the Connections thread, but my wife and I are in a small group of friends who do Wordle, Connections, Strands and the Mini Crossword every day. Of course, it turns into a competition - my goal is only to beat my wife, because she's much smarter than I Smile

I do the Wordle, Connections, Strands, and the Mini Crossword. I like the Mini and Strands the most.

Strands I wasn't as much of a fan of, but may give it a few more days before giving up on it.

I too am not a fan of the picture puzzle, fortunately they rarely do them.

I got it today with one mistake though. My current, and longest, streak is 45.

This is good advice. When I first started I was terrible at it and almost gave up. It’s important to “look ahead”, they will often times throw words in there that could fit more than one category and you have to recognize them and, at least have an idea, of the other categories or you will struggle.

so it looks like, based on today's results, words cannot be in two answers.

Or I am not understanding how the game is set up for playing

Wordle and Connections for me. Sometimes the crossword if I have time.

Same here, except Connections seems to have gone off the rails. Lately, I don't even bother looking at it.

Correct, 16 words, 4 categories, one time use for each word.
