Need a cane capable of being used as Self-defense tool
Thank you all, friends. I’ll see if there are any boxing week discounts for your most kind suggestions. Discounts or not, I’ll get something before the new year, and the snow hides treacherous patches of ice under it, and I cannot afford to fall yet again.
God bless you, and Merry Christmas.

^^^^^ I was going to suggest the exact same. I have one of his cudgels and have been looking at the canes recently. You have two main options, lead loaded or not. In Canada (and parts of the US), the lead loaded model may get you in trouble. But, I don’t think a non-lead loaded cane would be a bad option. As they come from Ireland, I imagine Canada wouldn’t look to adverse to them. Keep in mind that they come left handed right handed a few are ambidextrous.
Had a knee replacement with a lot of lymph swelling. Bought a wooden cane and the handgrip is a wooden ball somewhat larger than a baseball. Felt like I had a handy club is needed. TSA agent looked at it unsure what to do and let me get on a commercial airliner with it. Had the TSA given me a hard time I would tell him I'm suffering a disability and the ADA required them to make an exception for me. Don't know if that would have worked.

Already take it.
Gout attacks are from the Devil......
Talk to your doc about diclofenac 75 mg EC tablet, these are great for easing Gout Pain by reducing the inflammation which is the big cause of the pain.
Also, google your other meds, see if any have diuretics, many BP meds have it and can increase the odds of a Gout attack.

Am I correct that in Canada you can't have a Self Defense Cane, but you can have a walking stick and s9me bottom rung cop makes the decision on what you have?

This has been becoming a new self-defense weapon in Tyrannical England:
It might do until a good cane comes in. If you get a Cane Master cane, go basic with a a chiseled tip on handle as a opposed to the pointed sharp option....Chiseled tip less likely to be recognized as a weapon.

Correct. You cannot walk with a cane for the purpose of SD. But you can defend yourself with one. Same with a knife etc. They are not illegal to carry, but you may or may not be charged at the discretion of the local constabulary/ Crown Prosecution Service.
Yes, it’s a bleeped up country full of wussies, like almost all of Europe.

I have a fighting stick called a Japanese Jo that looks and functions like a walking stick. It is, as Mr. Eastwood said, a nice piece of hickory. I take it to places that I cannot carry. No one has ever given me, an old graybeard, a second look. RodThis message has been edited. Last edited by: sig sailor,
