When I was in the Army in 1970-71, it seemed like "Me & Bobby McGee" played almost every morning at breakfast in the mess hall. One of those songs that still triggers memories of that time in my life whenever I hear it.
I’ve always been enamored with her voice. So much emotion and feeling. Check out “Ball and Chain” by Big Brother & the Holding Company, I love that one.

I will never forget her singing Ball and Chain at Monterey Pop in 1967, and again somewhere in Socal in 1968. <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1zFnyEe3nE> Check out Mama Cass' reaction to Joplin...
