Prescription Shooting Glasses ?
I know there have been many threads on this subject, but I did a search and could not find them ?

I just saw the eye doc and got a new prescription for pistol shooting. So my question is what are your go to prescription internet companies and brands you can suggest ?

Thanks.

My Progressives make it a PIA to shoot, have to lift my head way up to see the sights....

Would love to have a good pair of script shooting glasses

I'll have to stick with contacts.
Rx shooting glasses for me would be heavy enough to pull all my shots low. Wink

Decot. Not stylish, but they are the gold standard for shooting glass function. If you need something a little more sporty, the Oakley's are a good bet. One buddy prefers the Smith's, but he is also red color blind so who knows.

L&M looks interesting and reasonable. I have Rudy Project that have been good.

I had a set made and mounted in a sports frame.
For my right dominant eye I asked for a .5 magnification, just enough to bring the front sight into focus but not blur out far objects.
My left eye is adjusted for distance.
They work very well.
My eyes are NOT so bad that either adjustment is extreme.
I started with a cheap set of .5 computer glasses to prove my theory.

When you say pistol shooting do you mean iron sights? If so are you aware that they make bifocal shooting glasses with +1 +2 etc on the top of the lens. I went with Randolph because the Rx is a seperate lens so I can change tint on my lenses without needing multiple Rx lenses. With Decot you will need your prescription ground on multiple sets of lenses if you want multiple tints.

I purchased a pair of ESS Crossbow glasses with the prescription lens insert from Optics Planet. I had Lens Crafters in the mall make my lenses. I can see the sights clearly but 75' targets are a little blurry. Not bad for IDPA competition.

I had my optometrist make me a set of shooting glasses. The first prescription made me dizzy within about 15 min.

I wore the second prescription to a 4 day handgun course . On day 2 and 3 , I woke with the most miserable headache that I've had in my life. I seriously wondered if I were having a stroke. Did a neurocheck on myself at 2:00 am.

I am now , quite afraid of the darn things....I never want to have another headache like that.

I wish that I knew what to do, to make them work better because I would really like to be able to use them.

I am exceedingly pleased with my WileyX frames for my prescriptions.

For the love of all things holy don’t make the mistake I made and get bifocals in them. The smooth transition from reading to distance screws with shotgun the most but it’s less than ideal for rifle and pistol too. I need to bite the bullet and get distance only lenses installed in the frames.
