Personal opinion, stay away from the 4 cylinder Jeep, they require Premium fuel. I test drove one and while it wasn’t bad my concern is the power and, it seemed peaky to me, I’d rather have torque than HP in that scenario.

Interesting. All 7 turbo charger vehicles I have/had, 5 of which were/are inline 4s, had/have small turbo chargers to have wide flat torque curves. They 4s started making torque at 2,000rpm, and had virtually flat curves between 2,500 rpm and redline. All produced more torque from 2,500 rpm to redline than the 304 V8 in my 1978 CJ7 did over the same range.

I wonder what Chrysler does different than Ford, Mazda, and VW to make it seem peaky?

I had a Ford F150 I put 178k miles on. Gave it to my kid.
Bought a Ram 1500. It didn't make me happy. Traded it on a 2024 Willys Wrangler 2 door with V6

I LOVE IT!!!!.

It is quick. Top comes off. Rides great.
Corners like is is on marshmallows. Shitty gas milage - 18-19 typically. Shitty range about 250-275 miles per tank. But I don't care about any of it. I love the damn thing....

Buy one. Love it. Live Life without the top or windows or doors...

Do, Or do not. There is no try.

You might give the Honda Ridgeline some thought. I've owned a truck from every mfr, when living from Alaska to Texas. That little Ridgeline, while not a full size/manly truck, it does a lot of things really well. And, it's a Honda.

Four door Ford F150 or maybe a Ranger. I now couldn’t imagine not having four door capability in a pickup.

I bought a 2021 Jeep Gladiator new, the pick up bed is very handy for me.

What about a smaller pickup?

I deeply regret trading in my 09 Tacoma, which served needs similar to yours very well.

Manual shift pickups are fun and can haul more than a jeep.

Go look at a 2-Door acess cab 6 speed Tacoma with the V6.

The new Ford Rangers are pretty sweet too, if you don't like the Tacoma or manual.
