I will be staying at the Westin Hotel in Savannah early in December. We will only be there one night. Does anyone know the area and have any suggestions on restaurants? Hopefully something unique to Savannah? Thanks for any advice or ideas.

The River House is one of my favorites. Best gumbo you'll ever have.

Kind of depends on what you are looking for though. Savannah is filled with good eats. It's hard to go wrong.

Another of my favorite places is a place called Jazz'd Tapas Bar. All they serve are appetizer sized foods, but they are VERY good. Pick several of them and you've got yourself a good meal. They also have live music there...not loud or overwhelming, just good atmosphere.

There are a lot of great places in Savannah but the one place I have to hit every time I'm there is Circa 1875:

Great food, service and ambience if you enjoy a relaxing dining experience.

We've eaten at The Shell House several times on our way to FL. It's right off I-95 one exit south of I-16. It's been a couple years since we've been there though.

Husk has the pedigree. Originally a Xharleston restaurant there are now 3 more in Greenville, Nashville, and Savannah. IMO (and I've spent a lot of time in Savannah) the Husk in C-town is better than any meal I've ever had in Savannah.

I've heard good things about The Grey, 700 Drayton, and Elizabeth on 37th. And The Wyld out on the Wilmington R.

If you're out on Tybee, then The Deck is my favorite.

The Saltwater Grill isnt too bad but the Pink House is a must. Great food and atmosphere. Mrs. Wilkes is good as well. If you choose to eat at The Lady and Sons order off the menu as the buffet can be hit and miss.

We Really enjoyed Treylor Park Hitch the menu is unique, but everything was great. The PB&J wings were awesome.

I have not heard anything about rebuilding.
The fire happened on August 11th, 2022.

I drove by recently and I would guess that 95% of the building was destroyed. I would hazard to guess that replacing the building as it stood previously; over salt water, would not be possible today.
