Long ago I had a small bottle of paint, kind of like model airplane dope, with grit in it. It created a skid resistant surface when dry. I have a use for such a product, but don’t remember its name. Does anyone know? Serious about crackers

How much area and how do you want to apply it? Dura-grip, perhaps? __________________________________ NRA Benefactor I lost all my weapons in a boating, umm, accident. http://www.aufamily.com/forums/

Paint with Anti-slip or Anti-skid additives. There are many brands. Also called Traction paint. "If Gun Control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome" - Cam Edwards

Check the websites for any of the major aircraft supply houses, such as Aircraft Spruce. Look for "wing walk" material. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Depending on how big of an area, but take a trip to the local Home Depot There’s no-skid tape, the above mentioned truck bed spray, they also sell small bags of silica sand to mix in with epoxy paint for garage floors. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. I only need to cover a couple of square inches with not-too-coarse grit. Some of your suggestions look promising. Thanks guys. SigForum is a wonderfully good resource! Serious about crackers

No, not for models. I just installed a new toilet seat to replace one that suffered a broken hinge. The new one tends to slip out of position. The two pair of mounting bolts and nuts are nylon. I fear that they’d break if I tightened them any more. So my plan was to paint rectangular patches with grit-paint to eliminate the slipping. But suggestions to use adhesive grit tape might be a better way. And it gave me yet another idea: good old friction tape! Adhesive side on the ceramic toilet, the special bolt heads bearing against the top side of the tape. It might do the job – it’s named “friction tape” for a good reason, and more friction is just what I’m seeking. Friction tape will be easy to trim to size, too. And I have a big roll of it on hand. Maybe try a rubber washer between the seat and the bowl. Would paint even stick to a porcelain toilet?

We used to help secure seats by filling the oversize holes around the bolts with silicone caulk. Makes future replacement a bit harder but not much. Collecting dust.

you also can buy a small can of grit to add to the paint, made specifically for doing so.
